Happy July!

We have been going a mile a minute around here now that summer is in full swing!  We havent been home much the past few weekends.  Seems like all of us or David...or myself have been out of town at some point just about every week for the past month or so.

We just got back from our annual "4th of July Cookout/Bash" down east at Scott and Kim's....which is always a good time and so much fun to spend time with them.  I wish we lived a little closer to each other...

On the actual 4th of July we spent the day around the house catching up on yard work and such and then were invited over to Jeff and Tanya's pool...we had a great time and the kids really enjoyed it.  Then we headed over to downtown Franklinton (the thriving metropolis that it is...lol) for their fireworks festival...they had food and bands playing before the fireworks and our church's Praise Band was the last act right before the fireworks....they put on a great show as always.  The kids really enjoyed the fireworks...Savannah thought they were "so cool" (as she likes to say these days).  Colton was just mesmerized by them...and he about jumped out of his skin with a couple loud booms...but he never cried...thats our brave boy!  ;)

The weekend before that I took the kids to visit Grammy and Erik and his family in Charlotte...it had been awhile since the kids had seen them and it was a good opportunity before my mom went out of town and Erik and his family go away on vacation.  Savannah cant go too long before she starts asking to see Jadyn.  Jadyn slept over Grammy's but we had them sleep in seperate rooms...otherwise I dont think they would have ever gone to sleep!  Makes me think of times growing up with all our cousins at Grandma/pa Denny's...sprawled out on the floor or in lawn chairs and chatting away all night.  The next day we hung out at her pool...which is really nice.  Then ate dinner with everyone before heading home.  So Savannah got her Jadyn fix for awhile  =)

Blue is doing good...he is pretty much housebroken...using the doggie door and is a such a good puppy...Buddylee really seems to like having him around too..

Well...I'll wrap this up...I posted a bunch of new pics in the following folders:

  • 4th of July '07
  • Visiting Grammy June '07
  • Our Boy Blue

Enjoy!

Our New Addition: BLUE

Last night after working childcare at church I went to pick up Savannah from the playground and a guy from church had a litter of puppies that all the kids were playing with.  He told us they were giving them away free and Savannah REALLY wanted to get one...so once Daddy said it was OK....she picked out a really cute black one and named him “Blue”… most likely because of Blue’s Clues….but if any of you have seen the movie “Old School” then you also know why David liked the name too......(think:  “Yer my boy bluuuueee!!”)

He is 7 weeks old and he is ¾ Labrador Retriever ¼ Golden Retriever…so David plans to work with him and make him a good “bird dog” for hunting…we'll be taking him to the vet tomorrow...then off to Petsmart to get him a collar for the electric fence so he can start following Buddylee in and out whenever he wants to..

Savannah is so excited about him and Colton cracks up at him and follows him around the house crawling after him...

Hopefully you will all get to meet Blue soon...he is such a sweetheart...

Much love to all...

Colton's First Haircut

I took Colton today for his first haircut…his hair was getting shaggy like a bowl-cut and I decided I was NOT havin’ that on my boy (no offense Erik…but it’s mom’s fault that you had it for years!!)….so I took him to Kidz Kutz in Wake Forest…he looks like such a lil’ man now!!!  He did so well during the haircut...the lady that did it was really good.  So check out the pics I posted...

I also posted some of my pics from my trip out to Las Vegas with my mom to go visit family and attend my cousin Rob's wedding.  We had a really great time...but I was glad to get home to my family!!!  When I left Colton was able to get up on his hands and knees but hadnt figured out how to actually crawl forward yet...and now he is a crawling machine...and he loves to pull up on the furniture or be held by his hands to walk around the house.  Its a riot to see him standing at the couch and how he gets bouncing up and down like he is in his jumperoo...you can check out some pics of him crawling and standing in the haircut folder...

New pics to check out in the following folders:

  • Colton's 1st Haircut
  • Vegas

Enjoy!!

Summer is here!

Well, it's shaping up to be a pretty busy summer already...
I've posted a bunch of pics from the past month...there are two folders in particular that you need to check out and here's the stories to go with them:

Check out "The Sticker Incident" folder...I captured these pics one afternoon...I was in the hallway sorting laundry and loading the washer and I walked back into the kitchen to see a very colorful Colton.   Seems that Savannah thought he needed some decorations....and the funny thing is...he obviously didnt seem to mind her messing with him because I didnt hear a peep out of him while I was down the hall!

The next folder to check out is "The Ice Cream Incident"....I'm ebarassed to admit that this happened right under my nose...Savannah was eating a nutty buddy cone and I had given her a bowl and spoon to help her eat it because I had a feeling some of it would fall off the cone...so she was sitting there happily eating away and Colton was sitting nearby with some toys.  Everything was under control and I decided to steal a few moments to sit on the couch about 2 feet away and check email.  So anyways... I was reading a fairly lengthy email....everything was quiet and peaceful....and I casually looked over at the kids.  Someone had helped themselves to the ice cream topping that had ended up in the bowl....and boy did he seems to really enjoy the chocolate/peanuts...as you can see!!  It's also funny to me that Savannah didnt even care that he was taking it...she just sat there quietly and watched him!

So go ahead and check those pics out as well as some other new folders...I'll be getting more to add to the wedding folder when I get copies from other people (I wasnt able to take many)...Savannah was a flower girl again in her cousin's wedding this past weekend...she's getting to be a little pro at it  ;)

New folders to check out:
  • Chris & Vicki's Wedding
  • Memorial Day W/E
  • A day at the park
  • The Sticker Incident
  • The Ice Cream Incident

Added new pics in the following folders:

  • Cunningham Kids
  • Savannah Grace
  • Colton Scott

Hope everyone is having a great summer so far!

Wow...time flies...

Ok....now dont everyone pass out or anything...I know you are in shock that this has been updated!!!  I have really let this slide...and have had alot of updating to do....there are a TON of new pics...

Okay...so where do I start....since my last entry...we had returned from our trip to FL....and I finally got serious about losing the last bit of my "baby weight"....so I have been going to the Y at least 3X a week...alot of times 4 or 5 days/week...I tried an 11 day crazy diet that I got from Stacey and her dad...but I didnt like the crazy food combinations it gave you....so I got weight watchers points info from Teresa and have been doing the points thing on my own...staying at 20 points or less a day.  I like that alot better...and I have lost a few pounds with it....I can moreso notice that clothes are fitting better...so that has me pretty motivated...

Okay...enough about all that...lets get to the fun stuff...I finally was able to coordinate schedules and get together with an long time friend for lunch (Velvet)....I brought the kids with me and they just loved her.  (see pic folder)

I still have been working childcare at the church....and I picked up alot of hours in April  because of the easter production.  they also had an egg hunt...Savannah had a good time at that...you can check out pics of that as well...

Then we had Savannah's 3rd birthday party.  She was so excited about having her party and chose a Disney Princess theme.  We had a cookout at our place and had a great time with everyone.  Savannah had a BLAST and just loved all her presents....OF COURSE there are lots of pics on here of the big bash.  Oh yeah, and she had her 3 yr old checkup and is 32 lbs....which moves her from 50th percentile to 70...I have no idea how since she eats like a bird!  Maybe its the instant breakfast I mix in her milk sometimes...anyways, she is healthy and growing well...everything a parent wants to hear!   ;)

Speaking of growing...Colton just seems to get bigger everyday...he just turned 9 mos the end of April...I have to make his 9 mos appt...I'm dying to see his weight....he is SO heavy!  he has 6 teeth now....the 2 bottom...and 4 top ones....and he is still as wild as ever....and still obsessed with jumping!

We visited my mom's new place at the end of April....to see her place all unpacked and to see relatives who were in town.  First off, my moms place is decorated so cute....it's really nice and homey.   And we had a great time with the family as well.   My mom's sisters came to visit....so we got to see Aunt Sally, Aunt Pat, Aunt Marion and Uncle Chet and Aunt Kathy and Uncle David.  My brother and his family were there as well...so it was a houseful!  Savannah really seemed to enjoy getting to know her family...she has been talking about them at various times since seeing them.  That was also the first time they got to see Colton...I think the wild man was a hit in his jumperoo that I had brought with us...he is quite entertaining in it!!  We cooked out while there and had a really nice time with everyone...especially since we dont get to see them as much as we'd like with them living in FL.  You can check out some pics on here of the weekend...

David has been busy with work and with a few things he's involved with at church.  The Softball team has started up and the kids and I go to some of the games...Savannah likes going and wishes so bad she could play with them....its funny...we have had to explain to her everytime that its a team for men...or "Daddies" as she says...but she runs around on the field and bases while they are warming up...she is a nut!
He just got back from the annual Men's Retreat...he had been involved in planning/organizing and participating/leading throughout the weekends events....so it's safe to say he's a little more that beat right now (he is sleeping)...he said it went rerally well and he  had a great time as usual...

While David was on the retreat this weekend...we went to the NC Zoo with Tanya and her boys (Jeff was with Dave on the retreat)...and let me tell you...that zoo can kick your butt!  It's a beautiful zoo...but if you havent ever gone....be forewarned:  prepare to walk....prepare to walk a LONG time....and up windy trails....up hills!  Not all that fun with a double stroller!   At least it wasnt hot....
We still had a great time and the kids had a blast....there are lots of pics to check out from it....

Well it's almost 11:30 Pm...everyone is sleeping but me and I am about to pass out....if I forgot anything that has happened in the past few weeks that I want to share...I'll write more tomorrow...I have some random pics to add to the kids pics folders....but for now you can check out the new pics folders:
  • Savannah's 3rd Bday party
  • NC Zoo
  • Grammys-Visiting Family
  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Lunch w/ Velvet

I think thats all of them....my brain is fried...I'm off to bed!
